- This is not a request for either a quote or proposal, or an invitation for bid. The intent of this pre-solicitation synopsis is to identify potential offerors to repair and construct new reinforced concrete slabs at Ramp 3, Naval Air Station, Sigonella, Sicily, Italy by means of a firm fixed price construction contract. All contractors proposing on Department of Defense solicitations must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) prior to award of the contract. The requirements will be procured utilizing Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237310. The estimated price range is ‚¬18,727.50 - ‚¬74,910.00. The anticipated requirement includes, but is not limited to, all labor, material, and equipment to demolition the existing concrete damaged airfield taxiway pavement at Ramp 3. The work is to repair and the construction of new reinforced concrete slabs, including forms, reinforcement steel and steel dowels as per contract drawings and specifications. To include: Elimination of old joint filler material inside and along the perimeter of the work area (approx 60 x 14 m), and preparation for new joint filler installation; installation of new backer rods and joint filler material in new fabricated joints and in old joints where filler was removed. NOTE: The contractor shall carry out work covered by this contract in accordance with Italian laws, Norme per la Sicurezza nei Cantieri Temporanei e Mobili and the Corps of Engineers EM-385-1-1 (current release). All work shall be conducted through the perimeter road south of the air field. The air field authority shall be informed through the Contracting Officer minimum 1 week before any job affecting the airfield operations. All work shall be performed in accordance with the most current version of the Army Corps of Engineers Safety Manual, EM-385-1-1, and in accordance with all applicable Italian safety laws and norms. The anticipated period of performance is 75 calendar days. Offerors can view and/or download the solicitation via the European Navy Electronic Commerce Online (EURONECO) website at https://euro.neco.navy.mil when it becomes available. All interested offerors shall register at this website. However, registration does not release bidders from the responsibility of checking the solicitation daily for any amendments or other notices. The solicitation is expected to be posted on 25 June 2012. Quotes are expected to be due on 25 July 2012 at 10:00 AM Central European Time (CET). All dates are tentative and are subject to change. This is an internet only solicitation so paper copies will not be provided. A pre bid conference and site visit will be indicated on the solicitation documents.
