Description
QIAGEN Inc. Annual Service Agreement for QIAGEN Automated System #BioRobot 3000 and #BioRobot 8000 The United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1, with QIAGEN Inc. to provide preventive maintenance for QIAGEN Automated System #BioRobot 3000 and #BioRobot 8000. The USEPA, Office of Research and Development (ORD), National Homeland Security Research Center needs a preventive maintenance agreement for two QIAGEN biorobots so they continue to operate safely and according to the current factory specifications. EPA has identified QIAGEN Inc. as the only contractor able to meet the requirements of this procurement. The nature of this acquistion requires a contractor that possesses the unique capabilities of evaluating and replacing the existent fluidics and valve components, so the biorobots work according to current factory specifications. In addition, the computer driven software used to run the robots on occasion requires adjustment. No other contractor can perform this service due to the proprietary software and design of these biorobots. The contractor shall provide annual preventive maintenance for #BioRobot 3000 and #BioRobot 8000 including: Onsite repair service within 5 business days; Periodic onsite inspection and or maintenance, 1 time per agreement year; Cost coverage for repair parts; Cost coverage for labor; Cost coverage for travel. The annual service agreement will cover the #BioRobot 3000 and #BioRobot 8000 from 8/1/2012 through 7/31/2013. This procurement will be accomplished under FAR Part 12. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirements. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Sources wishing to be considered MUST submit documentation to the office identified above. Documentation must be submitted within 7 calendar days of the date of publication of this notice. Submit your request in writing to Kimberly Loesch at the above address or by e-mail to loesch.kimberly@epa.gov. Telephone requests will not be honored.
