Description

The NOAA Satellite Operations Facility (NSOF) in Suitland, MD, is in need of an upgrade of IT Computing Power. NOAA has new satellite operations implemented every few years. The latest Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) system is the "R-Series", known as GOES-R. This project is being implemented to house the Remote Back Up (RBU) facility of GOESR Core GS System at the NOAA/NSOF building located in Suitland, MD. Triangle Service Center of GSA has been tasked to undertake a fast track project to increase the critical UPS capacity at the NSOF facility. To facilitate the integration of the GOES-R into the NSOF facility, the existing mechanical, electrical, and data center IT infrastructure and layout needs major re-configuration. This construction portion has been divided into 4 work elements (WE) as follows: WE-2 Generator Upgrades WE-3 UPS System Upgrades WE-4 Chiller Plant Upgrades WE-5 Computer Room Upgrades There are two phases of IT power increase. Schedule shall allow for 339 calendar days completion of IT power increase for Phase I from award of contract. Phase II power increase shall allow for an additional 68 calendar days from the completion of Phase I power increase. An additional 184 calendar days should be added for completion of Phase II. The total duration of contract is 591 calendar days.
