Description
NATO Role-I Forward Digital Imaging DeviceRFI1 The Combat Casualty Care Research Program of the Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC) provides integrated capabilities for far-forward medical care to reduce mortality and morbidity associated with major battlefield wounds and injuries. The USAMRMC is seeking information regarding an airworthy portable digital device for imaging internal body structures for use by medical professionals in the battlefield environment and other deployed settings. Interested firms should submit a 1-3 page whitepaper (with additional sheets for diagrams as necessary) describing such devices and the concept of use. Information will be reviewed pursuant to consideration for the development of a request for devices to be tested. As such, any descriptions of clinical use or test and evaluation studies will be of use. For the purposes of this request for information, we anticipate that devices: 1)Device will be a multi-source electrical powered ultrasound device capable of digital imaging the following FAST, pneumothorax identification, long bone fracture identification, transabdominal determination of intrauterine pregnancy, intracranial pressure estimation via optic nerve measurement, assessment for cardiac tamponade/asystole for determination of cessation of care; 2) device will have built-in wireless/satellite image transmission capability at Role-I; 3) device will be hardened for use in deployed environments; 4) Be of light weight; 5) Have low cube. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the best interest of the Government.
