Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE-SOURCE UNDER FAR 6.302 The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) New Mexico VA Health Care System, proposes to award a noncompetitive contract to Lynx Product Group to construct a pass-through modification to an existing VA-owned Lynx 410LX Cage and Rack Washer in use at the Medical Research section of the Raymond G. Murphy VA Medical Center. The modification is to include all parts and labor to accomplish fabrication of the pass-through opening to maintain separation of dirty and clean areas to minimize contamination in the care of laboratory animals. The basis for this sole-source award is due to the proprietary nature of the schematics and drawings needed to accomplish the pass-through conversion while maintaining the structural and operational integrity of the existing VA-owned equipment. It is critical to the Medical Research mission that down time is reduced and the risk of damage to or destruction of this existing equipment is minimized. This acquisition is pursuant to 41 USC 253 (c), Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition. The applicable NAICS code is 333298. This Notice of Intent is not a request for information or competitive quotations; however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than 3:00 PM (Central Daylight Time) on June 11, 2012. Any expressions of interest or capability statements must reference VA258-12-I-0502 and provide detail of the offeror's ability to fulfill the stated requirement. Information received will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether a competitive procurement is required.
