Description
The Contractor shall provide the materials and labor for the installation of new windows consisting of, but not limited to aluminum frame, operable sash, system penetrations, mounting hardware, adhesives, and sealant. Remove all existing window units to include both interior and exterior storm windows and any associated mounting hardware or framing. Remove interior blinds, mini-blinds, and shades to include the associated mounting hardware or framework. If interior access to windows is required for demolition or installation purposes, the Contractor is responsible for the moving, protecting, and/or storage of furniture, furniture systems, flooring, and all other tenant owned items. The Contractor shall provide the materials and labor for the installation of interior window shading systems for all windows except those indicated on the drawings requiring no shading device. The Contractor shall provide the materials and labor for the installation of new louvers. Where original window systems have been converted to house louvers, provide new louvers in an insulated panel as noted in drawings. New louvers shall be either fixed-blade louvers, or operable louvers as required to match existing operability. The Contractor shall provide the materials and labor for the installation of weatherproofing and insulation of openings. Several window openings in the basement require blocking over due to deterioration and discontinuation of use. The Contractor shall provide the materials and labor for the blocking over of existing openings. The Contractor shall block over existing windows as will be indicated in drawings. Installation will require the removal of rusting mesh screens and any mounting hardware. Several window openings on the West elevation were removed along with stonework to create additional external exits. A damaged area of exterior masonry also exists on the East elevation. One purpose of this scope of work will be to restore portions of the exterior to original condition and functional intent. The Contractor shall provide the materials and labor for the restoration of exterior window openings. The contractor shall remove the exterior metal doors, mounting hardware, brickwork, and any portion of furnished interior walls to restore the openings back to their original working condition. In accordance with the RIA Installation Design Guide, all fasteners into brick or limestone are to be anchored by epoxy adhesives.
