Description

Notice of Intent to acquire sole source training services for fire prevention and protection. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a sole source contract to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). This acquisition is conducted in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), Soliciting from a Single Source and FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source. The Contracting Officer has determined that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Training will be provided for the following courses: 2-day NFPA 99 - Health Care Facilities, 3-day NFPA 72 - Fire Alarm and Signaling Code, 1-day NFPA 45 - Standard on Fire Protection for Laboratories Using Chemicals, 3-day NFPA 13 - Standards for Installation of Sprinklers and 3-day NFPA 101 - Life Safety Code for Healthcare. The courses and all of the material are produced and copyrighted by the NFPA. The total estimated value is $77,975.00. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
