- Attachment 1, Specifications Exhibit A, DD 1423 Solicitation N00173-12-R-PW05 The US Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) applies diverse experimental and theoretical capabilities to a broad program of basic and applied research on solid-state materials that have potential device or systems applications of interest to the Navy. Investigations of fundamental mechanisms for crystal growth are coupled with research on the physics and chemistry of fundamental processes controlling the electronic and optical properties of semiconductors, nanomaterials and interfaces. This materials research is coupled closely to electronic/electrooptic device and sensor development. The NRL requires a cryogen-free superconducting split-coil magnet system to be used for optical microscopic measurements of semiconductor samples. The cryogen-free magnet system shall be installed by the contractor at the NRL in a laser spectroscopy laboratory. Training, documentation, and warranty are required. Delivery of the system is required within six months after date of award of contract. The NRL uses electronic commerce RFPs and amendments to RFPs. Paper copies of the RFP will not be provided. The actual closing date for proposals is 6 July 2012. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency.
