- Description
- This notice is being published in accordance with FAR Part 5.101, requiring the dissemination of information for proposed contract actions. The US Army Corps of Engineers intends to issue a sole-source purchase order to Aurora Aerospace for the integration of the Harris SST Radio onto the unmanned air system. This award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy the Agency Requirements, under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The modification to the unmanned aircraft includes the integration of one Harris SST Radio with associated hardware, fabrication and form fitting of a payload box with all associated Electromagnetic Interference connectors for the Radio, and modification to the unmanned aircraft's unique frame. Aurora Aerospace has developed an Electromagnetic Payload Box System utilizing their proprietary technology. The payload box must have the capabilities to support antenna diversity when antennas are connected to different radios and different levels of power which are required to operate the multiple payloads. This evolving technology is essential to the successful standardization and usage of the Harris SST Radio across the DoD. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals or bids. All interested parties may submit a capability statement in response to this requirement. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish capabilities to fulfill the requirement. Responses must be submitted by 16-June-2012 at 1500 EST. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties responding to this notice. Please email frank.j.dandrea@usace.army.mil with responses regarding this requirement.
