- Description
- In accordance with FAR subpart 6.302-1, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole source contract to Covance Research Products in Denver, PA The purpose of this procurement is to procure sixteen rhesus monkeys - female Chinese origin with more than 5 kg in weight, and no infection history of Hepatitis E. The history must be confirmed by anti-hepatitis E virus antibody (IgM and IgG) and Hepatitis E virus RNA PCR testing. Vovance Research Products is the only know source to have the required Rhesus with a confirmed negative Hepatitis E testing. Interested parties who feel that they possess the capabilities to provide the services described above should submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to provide the services. In addition, all interested parties must also be willing to coordinate the testing of the subject Rhesus. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive requirement. Please send your documentation to Sharon Cunningham at the office identified above, by email at cux0@cdc.gov. All coordination of testing must be done by the Contracting Officer Technical Representative immediately following the close of this notice. DO NOT FORWARD ANY ANIMAL SPECIMENS OR SAMPLES TO THIS OFFICE. All coordination of testing must be done by the Contracting Officer Technical Representative immediately following the close of this notice Documentation should be received within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis to be considered by CDC. A determination by the CDC not to compete this proposed contract, based upon responses to this notification, is solely within discretion of the government.
