- This is a sole-source synopsis that provides tentative notification of the Space and Naval Warfare System Center Atlantics intent to extend contract N65236-07-D-6867 with Scientific Research Corporation which provides Air Traffic Control (ATC), Ground Electronics Maintenance (GEM), and Meteorology (MET) Forecasting and Observation support services for U.S. Government aviation support facilities worldwide for a period of six months. The period of performance for this extension will be from 09 JULY 2012 to 09 JAN 2013. This extension is needed to satisfy the the Space and Naval Warfare System Center Atlantics Polar Program requirements until award of a follow on portfolio pillar contract is awarded. Not awarding a six month extension would cause negative impact to the Government. The extension will be performed by the incumbent contractor, Scientific Research Corporation 2300 WINDY RIDGE PARKWAY SUITE 400 SOUTH ATLANTA GA 30339. This six-month extension is accomplished pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c) (1), "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements," as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition of the work required during the extension period would be advantageous to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this contract extension period based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
