- Prototype PA 154 Metal Ammunition Containers Sources Sought Survey On behalf of the Office of Project Manager for Joint Services, the U.S. Army Contracting Command, New Jersey, is interested in potential sources that have the technical expertise and capability to provide Prototype PA154 Metal Ammunition Containers. The PA154 Metal Ammunition Container has exterior dimensions of 12.362 x 6.360 x 31.780 and is made of ASTM A109 or ASTM A568 steel. It has an ASTM D2000 gasket with a removable cover that is secured closed with two (2) latches. The PA154 container is zinc phosphate coated and painted. It can be painted with alkyd paint (dip process), powder coat or e-coat paint. Two (2) vent window assemblies having dimensions of 8.84 x 5.34 shall be added to the PA154 Metal Ammunition Container. The vent window consists of a bottom flange welded to the container body, a plastic window, a gasket and a top flange. The top flange is tightened onto the bottom flange with screws to compress the gasket and hold the assembly together. Manufacturing of these containers requires an extensive background in the production of metal ammunition containers, as well as technical expertise required to sustain quality throughout all phases of process, experience in the presentation of data deliverables required for Government contracts and an established internal quality control system, which must be equivalent to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 certification or better. Interested parties are requested to submit a description of their capabilities, facilities, equipment, manufacturing process, inspection capability, personnel, past experience and current production capacity per month along with other available information (i.e. points of contact and addresses, brochures, price lists, references) to: U.S. Army Contracting Command, New Jersey, ATTN: Justin Eilenberger, Maneuver Ammo Contracting Center, ACC-NJ-MA, Building 10, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J. 07806-5000 EMAIL ADDRESS justin.eilenberger@us.army.mil. Responses should indicate business size and any socio-economic considerations under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 332999. This Market Survey is for information and planning purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP). This Market Survey is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this Market Survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this Market Survey. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this survey or results of information submitted. Please submit your responses no later than (NLT) 1400 (2:00 PM) Eastern Standard Time, 8 June 2012. The PA154 Metal Ammunition Container is used for mortar ammunition and shall be manufactured in accordance with Top Level Drawings 19200-12577569, 12577544, and 12577545. These drawings are attached.
