- "GETTING BACK 2 BUSINESS" AND HOW THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT CAN HELP SMALL BUSINESSES COMMUNITY OUTREACH EVENT ABOUT THIS EVENT The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of the Secretary (OS), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) advocates for small businesses by providing guidance, education, and support to internal and external stakeholders in order to maximize opportunity while maintaining accountability. A series of Community Outreach Events are being developed to educate small businesses 1) on the Affordable Care Act; 2) become familiar with federal contracting; and 3) to identify and pursue contract opportunities with HHS. COST: FREE EVENT DATES AND LOCATIONS ■Philadelphia, PA - June 12, 2012, Location TBD ■Houston, TX - June 18, 2012, Location TBD ■San Diego, CA - June 22, 2012, Location TBD ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/REGISTRATION For more information and to register, visit http://hhs-back2business.com For businesses, there is a limit of 2 representatives per company per event. Pre-registration is required and limited. WHO SHOULD ATTEND? Small businesses that are interested in pursuing government contracts or who have initiated the process, but have not yet been successful should attend an event. This includes business owners and staff. Event attendees will gain insight about the proposal development process and delve deeper into federal contracting basics. Event attendees will have the opportunity to attend matchmaking and networking sessions to meet with government representatives in pre-scheduled meetings from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Matchmaking scheduling will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis to the first companies (up to 2 participants per company) that register for the overall event.
