This proposed procurement is for supplies for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Point of contact Michele Devine, Contract Specialist, e-mail: michele.g.devine.ctr@us.army.mil The following verbiage is directly from the Justification and Approval for sole source and is posted in accordance with FAR 5.102(a)(6). The Centron Environmental Monitoring System is a fully validated system and meets all compliance standards. It is able to monitor a diverse facility with multiple locations and provides instant automated data collection and analysis to your desktop. It provides centralized Alarm Notification and Data Collection, automatic reporting, and uses a combination of wired and/or wireless sensors. Rees Scientific Corporation is the only supplier that is authorized to quote, sell, and service the Centron systems. The Rees Scientific Centron Monitoring System is an upgrade of the current Rees Series II-PC monitoring system. No other supplier can insure 100% compatibility and interchangeability with the existing Centron components that will be integrated with the Centron Point Monitoring System. This system is currently David Grant Medical Center's standard for environmental monitoring. Any break in standardization would significantly increase maintenance and service costs. The current inventory of Rees Scientific equipement is valued at over $40K.
