Description
The following are the answers to respondents' questions to the Government as of May 24, 2012: Proactive Q&A Should our solution be based on the "ghost machine"/ Accumolo based cloud? Consistency to POR DCGS-A architecture is preferable. This effort will align with 14/15 POR baselines. How much, and what types of, data need to be transferred to sync with DCGS-A edge nodes? Are there data rate requirements/ restrictions for syncing with DCGS-A cloud (edge nodes)? We are still trying to define what data needs to be transferred but I believe it will be a solution that may vary based on the comms available. I think it is safe to assume that the solution provided will have to scale to actual bandwidth available and tolerate disruptions. Is there any interest in this RFI on a small radar that would provide real time SA to leaders at company level and below without resort to external sources? No, we are looking at integrating the results of sensors into the cloud and adding software capabilities to coist but the actual sensors are not really in our lane. This RFI is one small part of a larger integration effort where partners from other government organizations are to provide the sensor that to integrate. Will you please share with us your desired SWAP (space weight and power) footprint target? You want us to "reduce," but from what size down to what size? What sort of transportability requirements are there (Man-portable and/or vehicle mounted)? Also what sort of storage and processing goals do you have for the micro-cloud? We are interested in cloud at the company that would be able to supply computing capabilities for both the Ops and INTEL efforts at this level. We are also interested in a solution that will sync with DCGS-A edge nodes. We foresee a vehicle mounted solution but have not yet completed the requirement walk for storage or processing goals. It is understandable that you will have to make assumptions for this submission. What type organization is this requirement for, MI Company or an Infantry Company? If MI Company, what type? Infantry What is the communications backbone this data will be moved on? Soldier Radio Waveform from the Company down. Company to the cloud is WINT. What type data needs to be moved and the amount of data at each point, what levels of classification will be moved at which points? Sensor and Intelligence data. Although as information is moved to the lower levels only aggregated and processed alerts and alarms or threat overlays would be sent. -You can assume secret classification for the entire system. What POR's will this touch other than DCGS-A? PM FBCB2 Joint Battle Command-Platform (JBC-P) PM UAS Universal Ground Control Station (UGCS) Will this require a tactical device for capture of data and photos at the tactical edge? This RFI is primarily concerned with providing data to the tactical edge, that said this effort will work in conjunction with CERDEC Command Power and Integration (CP&I) to provide data capture and data visualization. It is expected that tactical displays and data capture will be integrated into programs of record such as JBC-P platform. What devices will this touch at the tactical edge? Need to know source and destination for these devices? Data will be accessed from DCGS-A Cloud as available. Destination will be JBC-P platform and COIST ozone widgets. What platform is used at the Company level to conduct analysis? Multifunction Workstation or ozone widgets although the long term goal of this effort is to standardize on a micro cloud solution for INTEL and Ops data. Therefore, it would be expected that ozone widgets at the company level would be provided for analysis tools. Are there vehicle mounted CDS's required what type vehicles? It is not expected that vehicle CDS's will be needed.
