Description
TO ALL INTERESTED PARTIES This announcement is posted as a Request for Information (RFI) only for an intended upcoming solicitation that will be posted on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website. This RFI is being issued to determine whether or not there are qualified sources that will be able to supply an environmentally friendly aerobic digester to break down food waste into effluent which can be treated and introduced back into the ecosystem as water. The following are general specifications that the government would propose: •1. Stainless steel machine with outside dimensions no larger than eight feet wide by eight feet tall by six feet deep that is capable of breaking down large volumes (at least 3,500 pounds) of food waste in less than 24 hours. •2. No chemicals are used in the process nor are solids generated that need to be handled. •3. No hazardous/flammable gases are produced by the operation of the machine. •4. Fresh water consumption of 50 to 400 gallons per day. •5. Machine can be continuously fed, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and easily operated by one staff member per shift. •6. Utility specifications (i.e. voltages, water requirements, and drain size) will be provided by the contractor. Actual water, plumbing and electrical connections will be provided by the institution. •7. Contractor must have the ability to deliver the machine to the institution at 201 FCI Lane, Glenville, WV 26351, connect machine to utilities in a space agreed upon between the government and the contractor, commence start- up of the machine and brief management and staff on proper operation and care of the machine. •8. On-board scale to help monitor volume processed through machine. •9. Warranty and service plan/maintenance agreement desirable. •10. Delivery to FCI Gilmer, 201 FCI Lane, Glenville, WV 26351 within 30 days of the issuance of a purchase order.
