- The purpose of this sources sought notice is to solicit capability statements from industry regarding the production of cardboard boxes meeting commercial specification ASTM D5118, as referenced in SPI Number P13-12-1305, step 2, in an effort to develop an acquisition strategy and subsequent request for quotation. This notice is not a request for quotation (RFQ); therefore, quotations are not requested at this time. A firm-fixed price contract will be contemplated. The potential requirement is as follows: 1,000 each, cardboard boxes meeting commercial specification ASTM D5118, as referenced in SPI Number P13-12-1305. The grade shall be V3C and the Class shall be WR. The size of the boxes shall be 30" x 19" x 13". Potential delivery location for the boxes will be the Rock Island Arsenal in Rock Island, IL. The delivery date for all of the boxes will be two (2) weeks after award. Each vendor should address whether they are capable of meeting this schedule. If not, please propose an alternate delivery schedule. Additional Information: This notice is issued solely for informational, planning purposes, and market research in accordance with FAR Part 10. Interested large and small businesses should provide a capability statement that demonstrates their capabilities and relevant past performance with regards to the items identified above. Capability statements should be submitted via e-mail to david.j.burke45.civ@mail.mil. Responses should be submitted not later than 31 May 2012, 3:00 pm (central time). Telephone requests will not be honored. Your response should identify the size status of your company; whether it is a large or small business. Your response should also indicate whether your organization is a small disadvantaged business (SDB), Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB), Service-Disabled-Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) concern, Historically Black College and University (HBCU), or other educational and minority institutions. Vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database to be considered a capable source. Participation in this effort is voluntary with no cost or obligation to be incurred by the government. As such, the government will not pay for any information or administrative cost incurred in response to this notice. Responses will not be considered as quotes, nor will any award be made as a result of this notice. Furthermore, respondents will not be notified of the results of any review of the responses; however, clarification of submissions may be requested by the Contract Specialist. Additionally, all submissions will become government property and will not be returned. No basis for a claim against the government may arise as a result from a response to this notice.
