Description
The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) has a procurement requirement for the US Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD) at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD 21010 and the US Army Medical Research Institute of InNfectious Disease (USAMRIID) at Fort Detrick, Frederick Maryland 21702. The strategy is to award a firm-fixed-price contract, indefinite delivery requirements (IDRC) type contract over a 36 month time frame consisting of a 12-month base period and 2 12-month option periods. Delivery orders will be used to procure commercially available siRNA controls, libraries and other reagents from Dharmacon Incorporated, 2650 Crescent Drive, Lafayette CO 80026. The strategy is to award a contract citing Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). To maintain contiunity of current on-going approved research protocols and validty of the research, these specific supplies are essential to the Government's missions and needs. Dharmacon's proprietary algorithms are required to meet the Government's on-going research goals. If another algorithms are used, the research results may be altered thus causing considered damage to the research and the funding used for those protocols. This is not a request for a quote and a solicitation will not be provided. If any companies can meet the Government's above need, a capabilities statement can be sent to Erin Maddox at erin.maddox@amedd.army.mil. This serves as the Government's intent to award a sole source to ensure the research mission at USAMRICD and USAMRIID is not comprimised. If no responses are received by 8:00 am eastern standard time on 5 June 2012, the strategy will commence.
