- Description
- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in Washington, DC, intends to award a Purchase Order for co-sponsorship for the Society of American Indian Government Employees (SAIGE) 2012 Annual National Training Program, to be held June 3 ? 8, 2012 in Denver, CO. The award for this requirement will be made under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The purpose of this Purchase Order is enabling EPA to comply with Presidential Executive Order 13270. The SAIGE National conference complies with the Executive Order by supporting the Tribal Colleges and universities and providing scholarships for native students to attend the training conference and by having the faculty from these colleges participate in the workshops and presentations. The Executive Director of the White House Initiative on Tribal College and Universities will be participating at the conference. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 611710. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. Based on market research and other available information, it has been determined that SAIGE is uniquely qualified to satisfy the Government?s requirement as they are the only organization hosting the 2012 SAIGE Conference, which provides the following unique mixture of benefits: 1. Provide a youth track component which provides opportunities for students from the tribal colleges to learn about the federal service and how to apply for jobs on USAJobs. 2. Students are given opportunities to lean about qualifications about internships, fellowships, and employment at EPA. 3. Opportunity to meet tribal college and university students pursing a career in the federal service. 4. Youth track gives EPA the opportunity to increase pipeline and outreach to native students who are looking for a career in the public service. Under the Purchase Order, the EPA will be provided with the following tangible deliverables: 1. Two (2) Exhibit Booth Spaces 2. One full page advertisement in the conference program 3. Four (4) conference fee registration 4. EPA Banner will be displayed at the main room where plenary sessions are being held. 5. Sponsor recognition event ? SAIGE will host 4 of your representative at our sponsor event. 6. Direct link to your website: your organization recognized on the SAIGE website, with a direct link to EPA. Due to the above-mentioned facts, it has been determined that Society of American Indian Government Employees (SAIGE) is uniquely qualified to satisfy the Government?s requirement and that no other vendor is able to provide these required supplies and services. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. Notwithstanding, any firm that believes it is capable of meeting EPA?s requirement, as stated herein, may submit their corporate capabilities, which, if received by the response date of this announcement, may be considered. Responses or questions to this posting must be in writing and submitted to Benita Jackson, Contracting Officer at jackson.benita@epa.gov by the listed response date. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
