Description
This is a sources sought notice whose purpose is to elicit information from potential vendors, no solicitation will be issued as a result of the publication of this notice. The US Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, requires a construction contract to replace the existing high voltage electrical power distribution system supplying power to the Administrative Area, dam and support facilities at Harlan County Dam, Republican City, Nebraska. The Contractor is responsible for testing all system components included in this contract after construction to ensure safe operation and will be required to own and maintain the system as pursuant to the utility regulations of the State of Nebraska. This is a notice of intent, not a request for competitive proposals. The new electrical lines may be constructed over the existing alignment or on a parallel line to the existing system, except for that portion of the line from the Administration Area to B Road and the Administration Building area bordering North Outlet Park. These portions shall be constructed within the existing alignment. The contractor will demolish and remove the existing line, and turn over any recovered material to the Government. The magnitude of the construction is estimated to be between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. The small business size standard is $33.5 million. The duration of the contract is not to exceed 180 calendar days. The Government intends to solicit and award to only one source, Twin Valleys Public Power District of Cambridge, NE under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1. Interested parties may identify their availability and capability for performing this work by submitting information within 15 days from the date of publication of this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract will be based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses should include information on experience and past performance of similar work, familiarity with the site, and ability to respond to outages and maintenance requirements once the work is completed.
