- Sources Sought only. This Sources Sought Notice is not a request for formal proposals or quotes. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. The VAMC Salem currently has the need for a contractor(s) provide all management, supervision, personnel, services, materials, supplies, facilities, transportation, and general and specialized equipment necessary for removal and replacement of two (2) existing single-wall emergency generator diesel fuel day-tanks at Salem VAMC ™s Building 143 with Virginia DEQ/NFPA 37/NFPA 30 compliant double-wall diesel fuel day-tanks. Replacement day-tanks meeting these requirements will be provided by Salem VAMC.These two existing day- tanks are located at the southeast and southwest corners of Building 143 along with their individual 750kW generator sets. Building 143 is located at the Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 1970 Roanoke Boulevard, Salem, Virginia, 24153. The contractor shall at a minimum complete the following tasks to ensure proper removal and replacement: 1.Connect generator per NEC and NFPA Codes and verify operation 2.Drain existing day-tank to main UST via existing UST return piping 3.Remove existing day tank and associated wiring/piping as needed; disposal of day-tank is the responsibility of the vendor and shall be in accordance with all environmental regulations. 4.Install new double-wall day tank per NFPA/NEC Codes and industry standard a. New day-tanks will be provided by Salem VAMC. 5.Piping shall be black steel, standard weight, ASTM A-53 pipe and include any necessary valves, checks and pressure gages between. 6.The engine supply, day tank and UST shall connect as shown on the drawings. 7.Supplied drawing is for general reference only; vendor is responsible for verifying existing site conditions and adjusting work accordingly. All work will be accomplished in-accordance with NFPA 110, Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems, NFPA 70B, Recommended Practice for Electrical Equipment Maintenance and NFPA 30.21.5 (2008 Edition), Flammable and Combustible Liquids.
