Description
The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), on behalf of the Program Executive Office Littoral Combat Ships (PEO LCS), intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP), under full and open competition, to procure five (5) AN/AES-1 Airborne Laser Mine Detection Systems (ALMDS) with options to procure two additional systems FY14 through FY17. This requirement also includes options for 10,000 hours of engineering support services (ESS) each year, support equipment, depot services and software support. The Airborne Laser Mine Detection System (ALMDS), AN/AES-1 is a Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) Airborne Mine Countermeasures (AMCM) high area coverage system that detects, classifies, and localizes surface and near-surface moored sea mines. A draft solicitation will be posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) webpage located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) website located at https://www.neco.navy.mil on or about 15 June 2012. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. Please note this will only be a draft, and elements of the solicitation may not be included or may be incomplete. Therefore, the actual solicitation, when released, may differ from this document. The release of the draft solicitation will provide industry an opportunity to comment on the solicitation before the formal solicitation is released. The formal solicitation will be released on or about 17 July 2012. When the solicitation is released it is anticipated that industry will have 45 days to respond. This announcement serves as a pre-solicitation notice only. This notice is not a contract, request for proposal, or commitment of any kind. Any comments and/or questions regarding this pre-solicitation notice must be submitted to Amanda Fritsch via email at amanda.fritsch@navy.mil (CC sonja.truehart-mckin@navy.mil).
