- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center, Small Boat Product Line, is seeking qualified sources to receive, disassemble, inspect, repair/recondition, test, preserve, package, and ship Balmar 98 Series Alternators, P/N 9824-220-BL, Stock Number 6115-01-491-5109. Services shall be completed in accordance with Coast Guard specifications utilizing ONLY Balmar parts. In addition, qualified sources must be able to provide Technical assistance when requested by the Government and a six month warranty to start at the date of installation into the Coast Guard vessel it 12 months of storage to commence the date the material is received at a designated Coast Guard installation. In the event of a catastrophic failure, the Contractor shall be required to conduct a failure analysis and provide a detailed root cause analysis report. The Government shall witness final testing of all Alternators prior to preservation, packaging, and shipping. Contractor's shall be required to take and submit pictures of all alternators at the time the units are received at the Contractor's facility and prior to shipping repaired/reconditioned units back to the Government. It is the Government's belief that only Balmar, the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), or their authorized repair facilities, can provide these services and ensure exact form, fit, and function, with existing equipment. All technical and engineering data is proprietary to the OEM and therefore is not available for release. However, sources capable of providing these exact services may submit their capabilities to this office within fourteen (14) calendar days from the date this Notice is published. Information submitted must include (1) Complete and current engineering data to demonstrate the capability of the Offeror; (2) acceptability of the offered parts (i.e., salient physical, functional, and performance characteristics) and/or (3) Data that the offered parts have been satisfactorily manufactured for the Government or the Original Equipment Manufacturer. This data must include sufficient information to allow the Coast Guard to evaluate the information relative to the above requirements. Inquiries/information received after the established deadline shall NOT be considered for this acquisition. The submission of this data for review shall not impede award of this contract. The Government does NOT intend to pay for information solicited.
