This is a Sources Sought (SS) Notice Only. This is not a request for proposal. There is no solicitation available at this time. The Government will not pay for any information received in response to this SS, nor will the Government compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing the information provided to the Government. This SS does not constitute a commitment by the Government. Any information provided in response to this market survey will be used for informational purposes only and will not be released. Any proprietary information submitted will be protected if appropriately marked. Vendor participation is not a promise of future business with the Government. The purpose of this SS is to conduct Market Research to determine an acquisition strategy to rent/lease temporary mobile boiler(s). The Department of Veterans Affairs, Northern Indiana Health Care System (VANIHCS), Fort Wayne, IN is conducting market research to determine if there is a sufficient number of certified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), Hubzone Small Businesses, or 8(a) firms capable of performing the requirements to warrant a solicitation set-aside. The proposed solicitation is to rent/lease temporary mobile boiler(s) with sufficient capacity to produce 40,000 pounds/hour, 90 PSI steam pressure at the steam connection, with safety and ancillary equipment, and controls. Contractor shall furnish all labor, boiler(s) and equipment necessary to render a safe and operational temporary mobile boiler(s) and shall remove same at the direction of the contracting officer. Contractor shall be responsible for installation, maintenance and repair of equipment. Contractor shall meet the requirements of FAR 19, Small Business Programs, and FAR 52.219-14, Limitations on Subcontracting. Estimated solicitation date is on or around June 30, 2012 with an estimated award date of August 15, 2012. The intended contract period is anticipated to be one base year with four one-year options, depending on Market Research.
