- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Request for Quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Requisition Number W81EWF-2130-4408 is being issued as a Request for Quotation. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334516 (SIC 3826). Size Standards is 500 Employees. All cost associated with delivery to Vicksburg, MS shall be included in the quote. FOB Destination: USACE Engineer Research and Development Center 3909 Halls Ferry Road, Bldg 3270, Vicksburg, MS 39180-6199. The US Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center - Environmental Laboratory has a need for the following: Vortex ME4-multichannel spectrometer, brand name or equal. Other brands will be evaluated for physical, functional, and performance characteristics. Line Item 0001: Vortex ME4-Multichannel Spectrometer, Quantity 1, Unit: Lump Sum, Unit Price _____, Total Amount ______. SPECIFICATIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS: A four element silicon drift detector (SDD) with a total active area of 170 mm2 Precise energy resolution (125 eV; E=6 keV), ideal for X-ray spectroscopy techniques Maximum output count rate up to 2 million counts per second Typical applications it must be capable of: X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectroscopy - both bulk and micro-fluorescence, synchrotron radiation applications, process control, and fast X-ray mapping Operated at near room temperature (5 - 30 oC) and cooled by a thermoelectric cooler (TEC) and can be cycled as frequently as needed without any degradation in detector performance with cool down times typically less than 3 minutes. Compact detector snout diameter (38.1 mm) required to maximize effective solid angle by detector placement in close proximity to sample Thin (12.5 m) Be vacuum window for improved detection sensitivity to low-energy fluorescent lines A detector unit and control box, which includes power supplies for the detector and TEC The detector contains a charge-sensitive preamplifier and temperature stabilization system, which eliminates concerns of varying ambient temperature. Contain an extended probe with a 230 mm snout length Must be capable of horizontal placement when in operation Small and compact package for minimum vibration Compatibility with xMap or Mercury 4 - multi element processor Detector component specifications include: sensitive thickness of 500 +/- 30 m, 12.5 m thick Beryllium detector window Charge sensitive preamplifiers (1 per SDD for a total of 4) with a gain of 1.6 mV/keV +/- 10%, positive signal polarity, and electrical reset that is synchronized for all channels with less than 1 -second duration. In accordance with 52.212-2 Award shall be made to the responsible offeror whose quote is determined to be Lowest Price Technically Acceptable.
