Description
SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS FOR Mode Selector B-1 Bomber Aircraft Department of the Air Force, Air Force Materiel Command, OO-ALC/GHGKB PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION This is a Source Sought Synopsis announcement, market research for information only, to be used for preliminary planning purposes. This market research is being conducted to identify potential sources possessing the engineering and manufacturing knowledge to remanufacture the mode selector assembly used on the B-1B aircraft. The mode selector is a flat, cylindrically-shaped device. The device is hermetically sealed. The device consists of an aluminum housing which confines all the interacting parts that make up the mode selector. The mode selector is a two-position switching device which accepts input detonation signals to produce output detonation signals. Input detonation signals can only be accepted when explosive charges in the explosive transfer assembly are aligned with the outlet holes in the support plate, cam shaft and housing. No proposal is requested or accepted from synopsis. This is not a solicitation for proposal and no contract shall be awarded from this synopsis. The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command, OO-ALC/GHGKB, Hill AFB is conducting a market survey for the following requirements. National Stock Number Part Number 1377-01-237-4417ES 6039100 INSTRUCTION Provide relevant experience to include performing engineering, manufacturing, inspection, and testing of similar components in the last 5 years. Company Profile will include the following: A. Number of employees. B. Office Location C. CAGE Code D. DUNS Number E. Small Business designation/status claimed No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow up information requests. The Government has very limited technical data to provide to potential offerors. Offerors must possess access to all appropriate data. Chemring Energetic Devices (CED), Downers Grove, IL has the capability and drawings for the mode selector and the government does not own or have the rights to use the data required to manufacture this device. Interested offerors shall respond to this Source Sought Synopsis no later than 3:00 PM 25 May 2012.
