Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore District would like to invite dredging industry contractors to participate in an Industry Day for the FY12-FY13 Baltimore Harbor Maintenance Dredging Project. This event is not a marketing opportunity. The event will be held on May 22, 2012 at the Cox Creek Dredged Material Containment Facility at 10:00 AM. The purpose of this event will be to seek dredging industry input and their comments regarding best practices for the technical execution of the portion of the required dredging and associated placement of dredged material at the Cox Creek Facility. For hydraulic unloaders, recirculation is required from within the Cox Creek South Cell(Spillway #1) as soon as South Cell surface water elevation Cell reaches +17' MLLW during inflow. Weir board elevation will be set at +15.5' MLLW at Spillway #1. The water surface elevation on April 30, 2012 was approximately +12' MLLW. Contractor has the option to discontinue recirculation when total suspended solids concentration measured by MES at the weir overflow reaches 1000 mg/l. Amended Information below: Attachments: #1 -Cox Creek DMCF Plan View #2 -Cox Recirculation Specifications #3 -Spillway #1 Recirculation Design (Installed by Others) #4 -Directions to Cox Creek Dredged Material Containment Facility, 1000 Kembo Rd Curtis Bay, MD #5 - Brewerton Angle Condition Survey SPECIAL NOTE: An estimated 492,000 cubic yards of material will be removed from Brewerton Angle and placed in Cox Creek during the FY 12-13 Inflow.
