Description
Defines the required services The 21 st Contracting Squadron of the United States Air Force (USAF) is conducting market research for an acquisition to provide base operations and maintenance support for Thule Air Base, Greenland. Base support consists of the following services: supply and purchasing, fuels management, airfield and airport operations, air traffic and transportation management, water port operations, civil engineering operations, vehicle operations and maintenance, fire protection, environmental management, health services, food services, recreation and community services, non-sensitive communications management, and weather operations. The current contract expires 30 Sep 2015. The contemplated contract type for the new contract is firm fixed price or fixed price incentive with possible award fee/term provisions. The contemplated period of performance is between five and ten years beginning on or around 1 Oct 2015. Participation in this acquisition is restricted to Danish or Greenlandic firms only per the terms of an International Agreement between the United States and The Kingdom of Denmark. The Statutory Authority is: 10 USC 2304(c)(4) as implemented by FAR 6.302-4 International Agreement. To participate in this acquisition, Danish/Greenlandic firms will be required to obtain appropriate clearance from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Non-Danish or non-Greenlandic firms interested in subcontracting or joint ventures opportunities are encouraged to contact potential Danish or Greenlandic prime contractors that may be interested in participating in this requirement. The USAF contracting personnel will not reply to requests for lists of potential Danish or Greenlandic sources. Please note that only Danish, Greenlandic, or United States personnel may be employed at Thule Air Base, per the terms of the International Agreement. This is a sources sought announcement only, and is not a solicitation or request for a proposal. A solicitation is not being issued at this time and this notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the USAF to issue a solicitation.
