Description
The VA Healthcare System intends to negotiate on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 -- Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements with Angiodynamics for Starburst Talon Semiflex Electrodes and pads. This requirement will include the following characteristics: Product Description Product # 700-102845 Starburst Talon Semiflex Electrode- Qty 5 each Product # 700-102649 Thermo Dispersive Electrode Pad (set of 2)- Qty 5 ea Salient Characteristics The StarBurst Talon Semi-Flex RFA electrode is a versatile device that features both rigid (metal) and flexible (polymer) trocar sections. The device offers all the benefits of the StarBurst Talon RFA electrode, but also has the ability to bend up to 90 degrees in all directions allowing for easy entry into the CT gantry. The active tip is also visible under CT imaging for precise placement. Features "Fast 4 cm spherical ablation in an average of 11 minutes using Innovative Infusion-Based RFA which overcomes the limitations of traditional dry electrodes "Surgically tapered cutting tip to penetrate and anchor soft tissue tumors "Single device placement for surface or difficult-to-reach lesions "Proprietary, real-time temperature feedback from all four electrode tines ensures controlled ablations and predictable outcomes New temperature monitoring thermo pads help the physician monitor the temperature of the return pad site during the ablation process. AngioDynamics' pads feature continuous temperature monitoring at the pad adhesion site through the incorporation of a thermocouple device located at the pad leading edge. The pads are designed to meet the needs of clinicians using AngioDynamics' latest generation of high-power, infusion based radiofrequency electrodes. The thermocouple returns data automatically to the 1500X RF generator, monitoring pad temperature throughout the procedure, and shutting off power when unsafe pad temperatures are detected. Thermo pads will work with any existing 1500X System. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest, accompanied by supporting literature, to the Contracting Officer no later than May 23, 2012 4PM EST. Responses should be sent to Kolleen.Blanton@va.gov. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
