Description
The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division (NSWC-PCD) on behalf of the USMC is soliciting information from potential sources for a clasping mechanism to be installed in the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Buffalo vehicle. The mechanism will be used to grip and secure a barrel or hand guard on a rifle or shotgun. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine whether industry has suitable products on hand or available with minimum developmental effort and time. Information provided to NSWC-PCD and the USMC will not be shared or distributed beyond other U.S government agencies without express written consent. Commercially available off-the-shelf (COTS) units are most desirable where a solution has been previously developed. It is desired that you fill out and return the attached form for each of your products relevant to this topic. Please e-mail this form with any supporting pictures or attachments to timothy.m.adams@navy.mil or mailed to Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (Code E34), Attn: Timothy M. Adams, 110 Vernon Ave, Panama City, FL 32407 and labeled with the sources sought number and title. NSWC Panama City requests your responses by June 15th, 2012. Questions can be submitted electronically to the Technical Point of Contact, Timothy M. Adams, NSWC PCD Code E34, (850) 235-5287, timothy.m.adams@navy.mil. Information provided will be treated as Business Sensitive and will not be shared outside of Government activities and agencies without the permission of the provider. Your assistance in supporting this effort will enable the USMC to define well-informed requirements and will greatly improve the efficiency of future acquisition and developmental efforts. Please ensure any supporting documentation does not exceed 6MB and 10 pages. All information shall be provided free of charge to the Government. NSWC PCD may request further information regarding the capabilities of respondents to meet the requirements and may request a presentation and/or a site visit as deemed necessary. This is a Sources Sought announcement, a market survey for written information only. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. In the event a solicitation is developed, it will be assigned a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) number and the announcement will be published in the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) and Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps).
