- Solicitation SB1341-12-RQ-0324 Solicitation SB1341-12-RQ-0324 Applicable Provisions and Clauses THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN FAR SUBPART 12.6, AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. FAR PART 13, SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION PROCEDURES, ARE UTILIZED IN THIS PROCUREMENT. THIS ANNOUCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; QUOTATIONS ARE BEING REQUESTED, AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This solicitation is a request for quotation. The solicitation document incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-59. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 333298- All other industrial machinery manufacturing. This is a commercial item requirement. This requirement will be competed under full and open competition. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed-price purchase order to the offeror that offers the best value to the Government using the Lowest-Priced, Technically Acceptable method. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Engineering Laboratory (EL) Next-Generation Robotics and Automation (NGRA) Program is tasked to develop and deploy advances in measurement science to safely increase the versatility, autonomy, and rapid re-tasking of intelligent robots and automation technologies for smart manufacturing and cyber-physical systems applications. An advanced robotic arm is needed to support several projects within the NGRA program. The robot must be equipped with advanced force control features including gravity compensation and stiffness control, kinematic redundancy, gravity compensation, teaching via hand guiding and external interfaces to support several different program areas as identified in the attached solicitation document. All quotations shall be submitted electronically so that they are received at keith.bubar@nist.gov no later than May 24, 2012 at 5:00 PM Eastern Time.
