Description
Draft Performance Work Statement - Weapon System Flexible Sustainment Implementation Title: Sources Sought - F-16 and A-10 Weapon System Flexible Sustainment Description: The 416 SCMS is conducting efforts to support and improve the maintenance, repair and operational support activities at the Ogden Air Logistics Center depot repair facilities. This will be accomplished by increasing reliability, improving maintainability and enhancing supportability of the weapons systems' electronic and electro-mechanical systems. The program will focus primarily on F-16 and A-10 weapon systems, but may include T-38 and F-4 systems as a secondary focus. This will ensure the freeing up of resources to facilitate airframe life extension. The contractor, through data analysis and engineering studies, will determine which weapon system line replaceable units and shop replaceable units will yield the greatest reduction in sustainment costs. Recommended corrective actions including non-procurement solutions, form, fit, function interface performance based acquisitions replacements at all levels, commercial item and non-developmental item procurements and obsolescence assessment will be provided for selected candidates. If a requirement materializes, it is likely that a 5 year IDIQ contract will be contemplated. Interested parties are encouraged to provide company information, background, similar government work performed (including government contract numbers), and information regarding the company's capabilities in performing the requirements listed in the attached draft Performance Work Specification. It is requested that all responses be submitted no later than June 14, 2012. This Sources Sought is not a request for competitive proposals and does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that a procurement will be accomplished. This is not a request for proposal or invitation for bid. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government assumes no responsibility for costs incurred by the contractor in responding to this Sources Sought. These costs remain solely the responsibility of the responding contractor and response is voluntary. This Sources Sought is a re-post of essentially the same Sources Sought, FA8251-WSFS-2011, originally posted on January 19, 2011 on fbo.gov.
