Issued 05/15/2012 Closes 05/29/2012 The VA National Acquisition Center intends to solicit for Pad, Bed Linen Protective, Reuseable (SIN A26-A). A five year contract (base year and four one year options) is anticipated. Deliveries are shipped to VA facilities nationwide, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Alaska, and DC, after receipt of delivery orders. The VA is seeking Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) (MUST be registered in Vetbiz) that can provide these Pads, Bed Linen Protective, Reusable. If you are a SDVOSB distributor the products must be manufactured by a small domestic (or "outlying area") manufacturer. "Outlying areas" means- (1) Commonwealths. (i) Puerto Rico.(ii) The Northern Mariana Islands (2) Territories.(i) American Samoa.(ii) Guam.(iii) U.S. Virgin Islands; and (3) Minor outlying islands.(i) Baker Island.(ii) Howland Island. (iii) Jarvis Island.(iv) Johnston Atoll.(v) Kingman Reef. (vi) Midway Islands.(vii) Navassa Island.(viii) Palmyra Atoll. (ix) Wake Atoll. **DO NOT SEND QUOTES OR SAMPLES** this is a Sources Sought Notice to determine if a SDVOSB set-aside contract is possible. In your reply, please state the name of the manufacturer, address and telephone number for verification purposes only. Verification is necessary in order to set this solicitation aside for SDVOSB's only. Specifications and estimated annual quantities listed below. SPECIFICATIONS Estimated Annual Quantities 90,747 Item: Pad, Linen Bed Protective, Reusable, Size 34" x 36" 1Underpad must be reusable. Disposable is not acceptable. 2Underpad must be leak proof and absorbent. Underpad shall hold 100ml of fluid discharge in its center without channeling fluid off the underpad. 3Underpad must be a minimum of 34 x 36 inch finished size. 4Seams must be free from puckering, bulk and finished to prevent raveling with no openings. 5Underpad must be made of a three-layer construction. Surface layer of pad must be made of maximum 75% polyester, minimum 25% Rayon fabric blend. Literature must include weight of soaker layer in ounces. Barrier layer of underpad must be made of a polyurethane fabric. 6Underpad must be latex free. 7Underpad must have a permanent tag that indentifies fabric content, country of manufacturer and VA property. 8Underpad must be able to withstand commercial laundering and drying in accordance with manufacturer provided laundry instructions while maintaining clinical efficiency of the soaker layer for the life of the underpad (minimum 150 washings) 9Underpad must be free from bunching or wrinkling.
