Description
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking to lease up to 800 parking spaces for dedicated use by Veterans (patients) and VA staff traveling to and from the VA Medical Center located at 700 South 18th Street, Birmingham, AL 35233. The lease term shall be for 2 years firm and two one-year renewal options with the option to terminate anytime after the end of the firm term. The proposed location must be properly zoned to allow for commuter/commercial parking. Both structured and surface parking will be given consideration. Parking must be paved, striped, fenced (if surface), and lighted. Security service for the site shall be provided by the Lessor. More specific requirements will be identified in the Solicitation for Offers. Delineated Area: Parking must be located within the delineated area identified below as bounded by the following streets: North Boundary: 5th Avenue North South Boundary: 12th Avenue South East Boundary: HWY 31/Red Mountain Expressway West Boundary: I65 Expressions of Interest Should Include: 1. Site plan of the parking location and its address 2. Total number of parking spaces being offered. 3. Annual rate per space 4. Date by which the parking would be available for lease 5. Current condition of the parking (for example, existing or under construction, paved, lighted) Note: The government will pay no more than the appraised fair market rental value for parking spaces. The government may satisfy this requirement through multiple lease awards. Respondents are advised that the VA assumes no responsibility to award a lease based upon responses to this advertisement.
