Description
NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) has a follow-on requirement for EngineeringServices (WESC) to support the Applied Engineering Technology Directorate (AETD) at theNASA Wallops Flight Facility (WFF). NASA Wallops Flight Facility enables low-costaerospace-based science and technology research by enabling scientific research throughthe development and deployment of low-cost, highly capable suborbital and orbitalresearch carriers; enabling aerospace technology advances supporting NASAs MissionDirectorates through advanced technology development and testing; and enabling education,commercial development of Space and other innovative partnerships. To fulfill theseresponsibilities and achieve our mission, NASA must acquire a wide range of engineeringservices to support activities at the GSFC WFF. The principal purpose of WESC is to provide engineering support services and related workin the following areas: Technology Development, Systems Engineering, ElectricalEngineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Guidance/Navigation andControl Systems, Safety Engineering, Metrology, Project Management and Support,Facilities Engineering. Support shall be provided for WFF activities including theApplied Engineering and Technology Directorate, Suborbital and Special Orbital ProjectsDirectorate, Sciences and Exploration Directorate, Facilities Management Branch, andGround Network activities. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Thisprocurement will be a small business set-aside. The North American IndustryClassification System (NAICS) Code for this procurement is 541712, 1000 employees. It isanticipated that we will release a Draft RFP for comment in early to mid July of 2012. Weanticipate the final RFP to be released mid to late August of 2012. This notice does not constitute a solicitation for proposals or a commitment by theGovernment. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the Internet site forschedule updates, the release of the solicitation, and amendments (if any). Potentialofferors will be responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation andamendments (if any). The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement willbe available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW)server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.NASA Clause 1852.215-84,Ombudsman, is applicable.
