Description
This is a Request For Information (RFI), to gain knowledge of interest and for planning purposes. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS. The government DOES NOT intend to award a contract on the basis of the responses to this RFI. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests. Responses to this RFI will not be returned. Information received in response to this RFI may be used to assess alternatives available in determining how to proceed in future acquisitions. This RFI is a part of market research in accordance with FAR Part 10. Any proprietary information submitted in response to this RFI, if marked with a restrictive legend and included as a proprietary addendum to the non-restricted/non proprietary information, will not be disclosed outside the government or its support contractors except with the permission of the responder. Not responding to the RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP. If a solicitation is released, it will be issued via the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fbo.gov). It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor this website for any information that may pertain to this RFI. The information provided in this RFI is subject to change and is not binding on the government. The Marine Corps Systems Command is seeking potential sources for production and delivery of the M1102-MCC Trailer, Light Tactical, Marine Corps Chassis (NSN 2330-01-543-5794). The M1102-MCC is a single axle, two wheeled chassis trailer. It is equipped with a solid flat bed with pre-drilled holes designed to secure and transport various pieces of power generation, lighting, environmental control units, and general purpose equipment. The M1102-MCC is designed to be towed behind the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) Model A2 Family and Expanded Capability Variant (ECV) of the HMMWV family of vehicles. The M1102-MCC is capable of traversing all types of roads, cross-country terrain and in all weather conditions. See attachments for basic M1102-MCC characteristics. The Technical Data Package (TDP) is owned by the government and shall be provided if this RFI results in a RFP. Response Information: Offerors possessing the capabilities to accomplish this requirement are invited to submit the following: company information to include the business size (large business, small business, 8(a) veteran owned small disadvantaged business, etc.); statement of capabilities; experience, to include familiarity with military needs and specifications (past performance, if applicable); current GSA or DLA contract information if applicable; production capacities; test reports (if applicable); rough estimated lead times; and rough order of magnitude price. Responses to the RFI should be limited to 25 pages, in Microsoft Word, Excel or Power Point applications. All responses should be e-mailed to lynn.smith@usmc.mil no later than 5:00 P.M. EDT, Monday, June 14, 2012. No phone inquiries will be accepted. Classification: UNCLASSIFIED
