Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office - SCRO, plans to issue solicitation IFBP05171200002 for the construction of, to include but not limited to, repairing security fencing. There is no ground access to the work. The awardee shall determine the best method of access for repairs (i.e. scaffolding or skywalker etc.) on the outside of the building. It is HIGHLY AND STRONGLY ENCOURAGED THAT CONTRACTORS ATTEND THE SITE VISIT (IDENTIFIED IN THE SOLICITATION) The successful contractor will provide all labor, materials and equipment for the repair of security fencing to include repairing and restore woven security screen barriers on floors 3 through 7 of a high rise building. The area of work encompasses approximately 164 woven rod screen panels covering approximately 4400 square feet. Strip, clean and remove rust and foreign matter and provide application of primer and finish coat to existing security screens, built up channels, braces and structural metal support. The work includes sanding, grinding, cutting and patching. Cut out and replace (patch) any metal from the frames, built up channels and braces that are severely corroded. The performance period is 120 calendar days after receipt of a notice to proceed. The project consists of furnishing all services, equipment, materials and labor for the complete construction of the work located at the Federal Detention Center, Houston, Texas. The magnitude of this project is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. The solicitation will available on or about May 29, 2012 with an anticipated bid opening date of approximately June 29, 2012. The solicitation will be distributed solely through the General Services Administrations Federal Business Opportunities website http//www.fedbizopps.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this solicitation, including any amendments will also be distributed solely through this site. Faith Based and Community Based organizations can submit offers/bids/quotations equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. This is a 100% small business set-aside.
