Description

Under the authority of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-5 (Authorized by Statute), the Washington D.C. Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (DC VAMC) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Shred-IT, for document collection and shredding services for the Medical Center, CBOC ™s and offsite administrative offices. It is increasingly critical to our organization ™s reputation to keep personal information (PHI &PII) confidential. A timely, consistent and secure method of destroying private information ensures that our medical center safeguards and protects our staff and veterans from the misuse of information. Shred-It, Inc. works with many clients in the healthcare industry and we understand the unique environment in which they operate in and services they provide that meets Information Security and VHA National Privacy Standards. This is not a solicitation or a request for offers. No solicitation package is available. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Responses must be received no later than May 22, 2012 @ 2:00PM, local time. No telephone inquiries will be accepted.
