Description
Draft Statement of Work This synopsis is a request for information (RFI) only. This request for information is being issued to determine whether or not there are qualified sources that will be able to meet the agency's requirements; obtain current market pricing, and market capabilities for planning purposes. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Office of Workforce Effectiveness and Resources (OWER) is seeking input on work to design and deliver the Perspectives in Communication (PIC) course. The PIC course is intended to provide communication skills training on harassment, diversity, and professional etiquette to NIAID staff with various professional backgrounds. Specific topics covered in the training include managing diversity (this includes but is not limited to generational, ethnic, race, and gender diversity), ethical and professional conduct, performance excellence, overview of sexual harassment prevention, fairness in the workplace, verbal, nonverbal, and written communication, telework and customer service. The government is seeking a course design using interactive drama teaching methodology. J. Boggs, A Mickel, and B Holtom defined interactive drama as scenes being performed live by trained actors before a student audience, stopping at pivotal points so the audience can interact with the actors. (Journal of Management Education, Vol. 31 No. 6, December 2007 832-858). A draft Statement of Work (SOW) has been provided detailing the specific tasks. Interested contractors must submit a response to the market survey instructions that demonstrates the capability to perform the type of service described in the SOW. Interested parties shall furnish the following information: 1. Name of organization 2. Telephone/fax number, address, and email address for the primary point of contact. 3. Provide a brief overview of your company's capabilities. 4. Provide a description of relevant projects your company has completed related to the subject matter of this market survey, including the name, size, type, location, and point of contact of each organization. 5. A capabilities statement to design and deliver the course using interactive drama along with a sample outline for the course related to the subject matter of this market survey. 6. Provide an indication of whether the organization currently holds a Federal contract related to the services described, and its contract number (if applicable). 7. Additional comments/questions specific to this requirement and draft Statement of Work. 8. A sample outline of the training related to the subject matter of this market survey. 9. Budgetary Estimate. Please send your response to tamara.williams@nih.gov by 12:00 pm May 22, 2012. Submissions shall not exceed 10 pages, including graphics and cover pages.
