Description
Request for Information on Deployable Continuous HMA Plant The Air Force Research Laboratory, Airbase Technologies Division (AFRL/RXQ), Pavements Research Group is developing a capability for expedient and contingency repairs of AOS using hot-mix asphalt (HMA). The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to determine the capability of industry to provide a deployable (mobile) continuous mix HMA plant that could be integrated into a complete deployable system. The deployable continuous mix HMA plant (truck mounted or trailer mounted with a tow vehicle) will provide rapid production and delivery of HMA for airfield repairs and agile combat support using pre-packaged (pelletized) asphalt binder and fines with prepackaged or locally-available coarse aggregate. Respondents should direct questions, requests for additional information, and responses regarding this RFI to the point of contact listed below. See Attachment 1 for information requested. Responses to this RFI should be no more than 10 pages with additional technical information provided in appendices if desired. Response can be sent via email, fax or mailed to the address below NLT 30 days from this posting. If sending e-mail, start the subject line with “Deployable Continuous HMA Plant:” followed by a brief statement of the technology you offer and your organization’s name. For example a subject might read, “Deployable Continuous HMA Plant: Trailer Mounted HMA Plant.” Point of Contact: Dr. Charles Ishee, Research Civil Engineer- Pavements Research AFRL/RXQ –Airbase Technologies Division 139 Barnes Drive, Ste 2 Tyndall Air Force Base, FL 32403 (850) 283-3718; fax (850) 283-4932 charles.ishee@us.af.mil Disclaimer.
