Description
NASA/GSFC has a requirement for Silicon Solid State Detector (SSD).Specifications are below:Total area ~15mm x 20 mmTotal active area > 12mm x 17 mmSplit in 8 individual strip detectorsCommon substrate and separate independent read out pads.Mounted in epoxy board Strip length >12 mmStrip pitch ~2.25mm Detector thickness ~500micros +-20Depletion depth equal to Detector thickness (full depletion) Junction thickness <50 nmOhmic window thickness<1500nmProvide wire bonding contact to junction sideProvide wire bonding contact to ohmic sideStrip capacitance <10pf typicalOperating Voltage < 200VRoom temperature bias current <100nAElectronic noise per strip <10KeV Verification with alpha particle test with noise <20KeVThe PIP detectors will be used for particle detection such as protons, Helium, Origen inseveral of the GSFC labs, such as the Plasma Composition laboratory. The detectors willbe mounted with preamplifier electronics and spectrum analyzers for use in calibrationfacilities and Particle Instrumentation. These types of detectors have the highsensitivity needed for high resolution and high rate measurements.~This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the onlysolicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are beingrequested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to usethe On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above orit may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. Theinformation required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred)no later than 2:30pm on May 18, 2012. Oral communications are not acceptable in responseto this action. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the releaseof amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their owncopy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any).
