Description
The Fleet Logistics Center Jacksonville, Florida intends to solicit for refurbishing support for the US Navy ™s Pratt & Whitney J52-P-408B turbojet engine Turbine Vane Support (part number 611340) for the Fleet Readiness Center Southeast, Jacksonville, FL. The J52 engine powers the Navy ™s EA-6B Prowler electronic warfare aircraft. This aircraft is used to reduce the enemy threat by jamming its Anti-Aircraft Missile radar capability and communications channels and rendering its existing anti aircraft missiles useless. The requirement is for 30 units per year. The proposed procurement is for a base year and two one-year option periods. The resulting contract will be a Fixed Price Requirements type contract with task order provisions. This requirement is identified under NAICS Code 336413 with the size standard of 1000 employees. The complete statement of work and technical specifications will be provided in the Request for Proposal (RFP). If contractors have not repaired parts under the requirements of the Critical Safety Items Desktop Guide within the last two years, they will need to submit a Source Approval Request (SAR) with proposal package. The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about 01 June 2012 and will close 30 days thereafter. The RFP will be made available electronically at the Federal Business Opportunities (www.fedbizopps.gov) and the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (www.neco.navy.mil) web sites. It is the responsibility of the interested parties to independently review the referenced websites frequently for updates. No paper copies of these documents will be issued. Offerors must be registered and active in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database to be considered for award. See www.ccr.gov for further information and instruction.
