Description
The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) at the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) is requesting expressions of interest from qualified vendors for a design/build subcontractor to provide a stand-alone fire suppression system in a secure facility at the NNSS. The candidate system may be water, mist, gas, or hybrid type, sized to provide sufficient coverage to protect a compartment volume of 13,000 to 15,000 Cu.Ft. The Stand Alone system shall be UL/FM approved/listed for a specifically identified hazard, NFPA 750 compliant, and meet, as a minimum, the following Department of Energy (DOE) requirements for a Safety Class (SC), Performance Category 3 (PC 3) system: •1. DOE O 420.1B, Facility Safety and the associated guide DOE G 420.1-1, Nonreactor Nuclear Safety Design Criteria and Explosive Safety Criteria Guide for use with DOE O 420.1, Facility Safety. •2. DOE-STD-1020-94, Natural Phenomena Hazards Design and Evaluation Criteria for department of Energy Facilities. (Seismic Design). The successful subcontractor will be required to have a Quality Assurance (QA) Program in accordance with the following Quality Assurance Criteria and Requirements: •1. 10 CFR 830, 830.4 through 830.7 and Subpart A, Quality Assurance requirements for Nuclear related work activities. •2. DOE-O-414.1D, "Quality Assurance" Attachments 1-4, Contractor Requirements Document for all work activities. •3. NQA-1:2000 Part I and Part II for Nuclear Facility and/or Mission Critical work activities The successful subcontractor's QA Program will be evaluated by the contractor's Supplier Quality Group to ensure all requirements are met. The successful subcontractor shall provide all design, fabrication, installation, testing and start-up of the Stand Alone system. In addition, the successful subcontractor shall provide operations and maintenance procedures as well as training for Contractor personnel. All onsite construction work must be performed in accordance with the Construction Project Labor Agreements for the Nevada National Security Site. Interested parties shall submit a letter of interest with examples of prior experience on similar systems and design staff qualifications to the point of contact listed above.
