Description
BLM Request for Proposal L12PS00347, Veterinary Services, is hereby issued. Awardee will work primarily at the Hutchinson, Kansas Wild Horse and Burro Facility on an as needed basis for a 12 Month Period, with four 12 month option periods. Other potential sites of operation include, but are not limited to: Teterville Long Term Holding Facility, Matfield Green Long Term Holding Facility, and Vinita Long Term Holding Facility. The Hutchinson, Kansas WH&B Facility is located at 1/8th of a mile west of hwy 61 and G Ave.. The contractor shall provide routine veterinary services on an as needed basis at the Hutchinson, Kansas Facility and will be reimbursed based on the hourly rate set forth in the contract. The workload will vary seasonally. At times, services will be required five days a week. Workload can be expected to vary depending on shipping activity and the health of the population at the WH&B Facility. An average number of equines held within the Hutchinson, Kansas WH&B Facility have been approximately 450 animals. The lowest number of equines has been approximately 350 animals. The veterinarian, or alternate veterinarian, must be available at the site within three (3) hours of notification of an emergency and within twenty-four (24) hours of notification of a non-emergency. The name, address and telephone number of the alternate veterinarian must be provided. The duties require a veterinarian licensed in the State of Oklahoma and Kansas and have one year of experience with large animals. Approximately 80% of the estimated workload consists of preparing equines for adoption. The remaining 20% of the workload for veterinarian services includes, but is not limited to the following treatments: Castration, Hip wounds, Hernia Repair, Colic, and Eye Infections. More within the Statement of Work (attached). The action is 100% set-aside for small business under NAICS code 541940, Veterinary Services, where the size standard is $7.0. Awarded contractor shall be current in CCR (www.ccr.gov) and ORCA (orca.bpn.gov).
