Description
Solicitation Award Notice - VA69D-12-I-0353 to provide Architectural/Engineering Construction Period Services for on-going inspections of active construction projects at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, MI. Scope of Work: Provide for and furnish all labor, superintendence, materials, tools, equipment, insurance, temporary protection, and other items designated under the provisions of this contract to provide on-site construction inspections for multiple projects at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, MI. This will require a certified mechanical engineer/designer, or equivalent, to work at the medical center for approximately 30 to 40 hours per week for approximately 30 weeks. Work Orders will be issued for individual projects. The contract will be issued for a base period of one (1) year with two additional one (1) year options. Individual work orders shall not exceed $50,000 or be less than $2,000. Total fees paid under the resultant contract shall not exceed $110,000 including the option year(s). Sample construction projects include TB Isolation Room, Energy Conservation Measures, Renovate Sixth Floor for Lab, Expand Mental Health 3C and Humidity Secondary Storage. Selection Procedure: In accordance with FAR 36.602-5(a), the short selection process was utilized to procure this contract. Per FAR 36.602-5(a), the (selection) board shall review and evaluate architect-engineer firms in accordance with FAR 36.602-3, except that the selection report shall serve as the final selection list and shall be provided directly by the contracting officer. The report shall serve as an authorization for the contracting officer to commence negotiations in accordance with FAR 36.606.
