Description

THIS IS A TOTAL 100% SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) SET-ASIDE. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network 23 Contract Office, Minneapolis, Minnesota intends to issue an Invitation For Bid (IFB) to award a single, firm fixed-price contract to provide all tools, materials, equipment and labor and supervision necessary for completion of construction project 636-403, 'Relocate Surgical Operating Rooms', at the Iowa City VA Health Care Center, Iowa City, Iowa in accordance with the drawings and specifications. This project will add a new steel frame, 6 Operating Rooms, Surgical Suite above the third floor at the Iowa City VA. It will also renovate adjacent space for surgical support. Work includes new construction, demolition, renovation, asbestos abatement, and alterations to walls, ceilings, roofs and floors, general construction, mechanical, electrical and plumbing work, controls, telecom and certain other items. Work will require at least 2-3 phases to complete. Work is to be completed within 548 calendar days from the notice to proceed. Specifications and Drawings for submitting a bid will be available at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All respondents must be registered in the CCR database (http://www.ccr.gov) and complete online Representations and Certifications at (http://orca.bpn.gov), along with Vets 100 at (http://vets.dol.gov/vets100/). Bidders must be registered in VetBiz at (http://www.vetbiz.gov/). Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All parties must obtain amendments to the solicitation through this web site. Hard copies will not be mailed. Interested parties must go to the web site to be entered on the Interested Vendors List and/or to obtain copies of the Interested Vendors List. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office via email to james.mcdavitt@va.gov. Issue Date is tentatively scheduled for June 01, 2012. The Pre-bid meeting/Site-visit will be announced upon Solicitation issuance. Bid Opening Date is tentatively scheduled for July 13, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. (local time) at 708 South 3rd Street, Suite 200E, Minneapolis, Minnesota but exact date may vary depending on issuance of the solicitation. The applicable NAICS Code is 236220, with the applicable size standard being $33.5 million. Cost range is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00.
