Description
This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the onlysolicitation; offers are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.This notice is being issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ) for a Continuum LasersPowerlite Precision II Series, Model 9030 Nd:YAG, with second and third harmonicgeneration, and a ND6000, high energy dye laser, along with UVX-1, -2 wavelengthextension or equivalent.Please see the attached specifications for further information on the laser. **NOTE TO PROSPECTIVE OFFERORS: THE OFFEROR MUST INCLUDE ADEQUATE INFORMATION IN THEIRQUOTATION FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO EVALUATE WHETHER OR NOT THE PROPOSED ITEM/S MEET THEREQUIREMENTS IN THE ATTACHED SPECIFICATIONS. IF PROPOSING AN EQUIVALENT LASER, THEOFFEROR MUST PROVIDE SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION, IN SUFFICIENT DETAIL, FOR THE GOVERNMENTTO DETERMINE IF THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PROPOSED LASER MEETS ALL OF THE SALIENTCHARACTERISTICS IN THE ATTACHED SPECIFICATIONS; FURTHERMORE, NASA GRC CURRENTLY OWNS TWOCONTINUUM HIGH POWERED ND:YAG LASER SYSTEMS THAT HAVE COMPATIBLE OPTICS AND OPERATINGPROCEDURES CONSISTENT WITH THIS NEW LASER SYSTEM REQUIREMENT. THIS NEW LASER SYSTEM MUSTBE COMPATIBLE WITH THE TWO EXISTING LASER SYSTEMS AND IF THE OFFEROR IS PROPOSING ANEQUIVALENT, SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION SHALL BE PROVIDED TO DEMONSTRATE THATCOMPATIBILITY** The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 2005-57.The NAICS Code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 33599 and500 employees respectively.
