Description
LSJ for HSHQDC-07-F-00139 The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD), proposes to extend task order GS-07F-0385J/HSHQDC-07-F-00139 for 6 months on a basis of other than full and open competition for Professional Security Support Services. Task Order GS-07F-0385J/HSHQDC-07-F-00139 was awarded to US Investigations Services (USIS) on July 16, 2007 with a 9 month base period and 4 option periods of 1 year each. The total award amount including options is $5,018,276.64. The Professional Security Support Services provided consist of industrial security, physical/facilities security, information systems security and personnel security. The Contracting Officer has determined that issuing the proposed modification to extend task order GS-07F-0385J/HSHQDC-07-F-00139 to continue this effort represents the best value and will result in the lowest overall cost alternative, considering price and administrative costs, to meet the Government's needs. This modification will be placed in accordance with FAR 8.404, "Use of Federal Supply Schedules." The General Services Administration (GSA) has already negotiated fair and reasonable pricing rates and the option price was evaluated prior to task order award. Additionally, prior to extending the task order, the ordering activity will consider the level of effort and the mix of labor proposed to perform the specific task being ordered in order to determine that the total price is reasonable. USIS was formally notified of the option to extend services in accordance with FAR 52.217-8.
