- Sourgrass Recreation Area Solicitation This project is for campground interpretive host services at the Sourgrass Recreation Area on the Calaveras Ranger District of the Stanislaus National Forest. The host is responsible for running the campground in a safe and responsible manner. Duties include fee compliance, all campground maintenance (such as cleaning of toilets and showers), familiarity and enforcement of all rules and regulations, cultural and natural resources interpretation of the site and surrounding area, and operating and charging electric golf-cart utility vehicle. The host is expected to interact with Forest Service personnel, including law enforcement, recreation technicians, and the district archaeologist. Work schedule is Thursday through Monday with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off. Hours are flexible. However, it is expected that the campground host be available to assist campers in an "on-call" environment. This project is for a base year plus four option years. For 2012 the estimated start work date is May 17, 2012, for 15 to 16 weeks each year with options for four additional weeks. The project location is the Sourgrass Recreation Area on the Stanislaus National Forest. From Stockton, CA: east on Highway 4 for 78 miles to Dorrington, CA. Right on Boards Crossing Road for 4 miles to Sourgrass Recreation Area, situated on the North Fork of the Stanislaus River. This project is set aside for small business. Solicitation package will be uploaded approximately April 20, 2012, with a proposal due date of April 30, 2012. Please hold any technical questions until after review of the solicitation.
