- Description
- KC-10 VMT System Requirements Document (SRD) KC-10 and KC-135 VMT RFI KC-10 and KC-135 VMT Background The Agile Combat Support Directorate, Simulators Division is conducting market research to identify potential sources that may possess the capabilities to deliver separate virtual maintenance training systems for the KC-10 and KC-135 aircraft. The trainer suites shall be designed to fit in existing classrooms. The KC-10 virtual maintenance trainers (VMTs) shall be delivered to Travis AFB, CA and McGuire AFB, NJ. Please reference the attached requirements document, Appendix B, to view the existing sizes for the KC-10 VMT classrooms. The KC-135 VMTs shall be delivered to MacDill AFB, FL, McConnell AFB, KS, and Fairchild AFB, WA. The classroom sizes for the KC-135 VMTs are to be determined. KC-10 and KC-135 maintenance training is still accomplished on actual aircraft; these training activities have an impact on mission capabilities, and mission requirements regularly delay maintenance training. All training is conducted by Air Force instructors. The VMT system will be used as a training aid in the current Air Force courses and for certain proficiency levels and tasks, and consequently decrease training on an operational aircraft. Please note, that at this current time, this effort will replace all previous KC-10 and KC-135 efforts to procure or obtain further information about Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI). The requirement is for a virtual maintenance trainer that purely replicates the operations of the actual aircraft.
